The Vienna Royal Symphony Orchestra was founded in Vienna in 2012 under the artistic direction of Prof. Dr. habil. Dariusz Mikulski. Since its establishment, the orchestra has been passionately dedicated to preserving the Viennese musical tradition and presenting it in a vibrant and inspiring way on international concert stages.
At the heart of its artistic identity are the distinctive Viennese sound, stylistic elegance, musical lightness, and the unique combination of refinement, charm, and joie de vivre associated especially with the works of the Strauss dynasty. Waltzes, polkas, marches, and operetta overtures form an important part of the orchestra’s programmes. At the same time, its repertoire includes major works of the Classical and Romantic periods, opera, symphonic concert literature, as well as selected compositions and traditional songs from the countries in which the orchestra performs.
The musicians of the Vienna Royal Symphony Orchestra come from various European countries. This international ensemble brings together different musical backgrounds and interpretative traditions, united by a shared commitment to the Viennese style of performance. The result is an orchestral sound that is rooted in tradition and authenticity while remaining open, colourful, and international in character.

Since its foundation, the orchestra has performed in numerous concerts and concert tours throughout Europe and China. A particular focus has been placed on its highly successful tours in the People’s Republic of China, where the orchestra has appeared in major cities and prestigious concert halls, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Xi’an, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Nanning, and Haikou.
The concerts of the Vienna Royal Symphony Orchestra are conceived not only as musical performances, but also as encounters between cultures. By combining Viennese masterpieces, international classical repertoire, and selected Chinese compositions, the orchestra creates musical bridges between Austria, Europe, and China.
The orchestra regularly collaborates with internationally renowned vocal and instrumental soloists. Opera singers, violinists, pianists, wind soloists, and other distinguished artists enrich its programmes and give each concert an individual artistic character. In addition to symphonic concerts, the ensemble presents Viennese-style New Year’s concerts, operetta programmes, gala evenings, opera productions, and interdisciplinary projects involving dance and ballet.

Guest Conductor of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in Bangkok; Professor, Soloist, and Conductor of the World Brass Association; Former General Director and Artistic Director of the Sudeten Philharmonic in Wałbrzych (2005-2010); Conductor at the Opera in Poznań and the Opera Wrocław; Professor at the Academy of Music in Łódź and Guest Professor at Mahidol University in Bangkok, the National Kazakh University in Nur-Sultan (Astana) in Kazakhstan, and the National University in Manaus (Brazil). Owner of MEETMIKULSKI Kulturmanagement Berlin, specializing in concert and tour organization, opera productions, and artist management.
Dariusz Mikulski received his education in Poland, Germany, and Austria at the university level. He holds a diploma from the Academy of Music in Łódź, the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, and the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he studied horn with Prof. Radovan Vlatkovic and conducting with Prof. Tomas Ungar and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. In 2003, he received his doctorate from the Academy of Music in Łódź. Dariusz Mikulski also completed studies at the University of Warsaw, Department of Management, graduating with a postgraduate degree in Cultural and Arts Administration.
He has won many awards at prestigious music competitions both in Poland (Częstochowa, Gdańsk, and Łódź) and internationally, such as the “Prague Spring,” the “Peter-Damm Competition,” the “International Horn Competition in Toulon,” and the “International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen.”
Prof. Dariusz Mikulski is a regular guest as a conductor and soloist with many renowned symphony orchestras, opera houses, and music festivals.
